Middle School (Grades 6 – 8) After School Co-Ed Spring Intramurals Programs

FEE: $45 each program or attend ALL four programs and SAVE $20 off total price.  FEE:  $160

Five Weeks from  May 4 – June 14, 2010 - If sessions are canceled due to weather, an announcement will be made at school and posted on www.flcommrec.com website after 12:00 p.m.  Make-up sessions will be the weeks of June 7 and 14.

Time: 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. – Please be prompt in picking up at 3:45 p.m.  Volleyball pick –up time is at 4:15.

Pick-up location: Middle School parking lot near Gym Entrance.

BOYS AND GIRLS MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

We are teaching the Middle School students the basic skills (passing, serving, hitting, setting, etc.)  for an easier transition to the high school volleyball sport.

Fee: $45 per student / Grades:  6 - 8

Days: Tuesdays - Dates: 05/04, 05/11, 05/18, 05/25 and 06/01

Time: 2:30 – 4:15 p.m. (Students should bring clothes to change and wear sneakers).

Basic Babysitting Training (Grades 6 – 8) and Home Alone Safety (Grades 4 – 5)

Date: Friday night, May 21, 2010 with Program Instructor/Trainer: Beth D. Oleson

Location: Freetown – Lakeville Middle School (Gym Entrance) Health Room

Snacks and drinks will be provided for each class.


Basic Babysitting Training – Fee: $35 from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. – This comprehensive 3-hour course for boys and girls in Grades 6 – 8 which covers the following topics: first aid, choke save techniques, mealtime, bedtime, diapering, discipline, safety, contracts and ethics. 

Home Alone – Fee: $30 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. – This 2 ½ hour course for boys and girls in Grades 4 – 5 which covers Basic First Aid, Door Protocol, Telephone Protocol, Accident Prevention, First Aid for Choking, and Safety Measures.

KARATE & MARTIAL ARTS – Spring II Session

Seven Weeks on Thursdays from May – June

Dates: May 6, 13, 20, and 27 and June 3, 10, and 17

 Ages 4 – 7 (Boys & Girls) 5:00 – 5:45 p.m.

Ages 8 – 12 (Boys & Girls) 6:00 – 6:45 p.m.

 Location: Freetown – Lakeville Middle School - Choral Classroom (Gym Entrance)

 Fee: $70 (This price already includes a $10 non-refundable registration fee.  Only credits will be issued for future programs for any cancellations).

 Classes include limited contact and promote the development of personal skills such as:

-          Self-Defense and Personal Protection

-          Non-Violent Conflict Resolution

-          Improve Fitness, Coordination, Strength and Flexibility

-          Improve Concentration, Problem Solving and Goal Setting

-          Increase Confidence, Self Esteem, Communication & Leadership Skills

 Students should wear loose fitting clothes.

 Instructor Allen Scott is a third degree Black Belt who has trained in the martial arts for more than 25 years.  He owns a karate school in Lakeville.

 Students in Grades 5 – 8 will be performing “One Magic Moment.”

Saturday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Apponequet High School.  Tickets sold at door.
